John P. LaGrand, M.D.

Dr. John LaGrand was born in Grand Rapids, MI, but spent his childhood in Chicago, IL, Sheffield, England, and Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He returned to west Michigan to attend Calvin College and then studied at the University of Michigan Medical School.

 

Dr. LaGrand completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Butterworth Hospital and is a board certified OB-GYN. He has been practicing medicine in west Michigan since 1998.

 

In early 2024, after more than twenty-five years of providing OB care and ten years championing midwifery services, Dr. LaGrand transitioned away from obstetrics and now focuses on gynecologic care and minimally invasive surgery.

His professional passion includes Laparo Endoscopic Single Site surgery (LESS). He is one of few surgeons in the country experiences in this approach, which tends to offer faster and less painful recoveries.

 

When not at work, Dr. LaGrand can be found staying busy with wood-working and do-it-yourself projects.
